The Art is Not Something You Apply to Your Work
The Art is the Way You Do Your Work, a Result of Your Attitude Toward It

Ridge house, medford
The Client established a contemporary design direction, based on simple rectilinear solid forms for this relatively modest custom residence in a natural setting. The Clients requested that the design include a generous artist’s studio for their artistic pursuits; the studio includes ample north light.
The design takes advantage of the site’s fabulous, commanding views of the Griffin Creek area, the Table Rocks, most of Medford as well as White City. The view of the Rogue Valley’s lights at night is expansive.
Selections of materials were limited to those which would offer a fire-resistive building shell, since the site is located in a forested area of Jackson County.
The project takes full advantage of its exposure on the site to optimize solar orientation.
Occupant comfort is provided by an in-floor radiant heating system, with air conditioning system as well.
Door opening widths, minimal floor level changes and other features allow for aging in place.
