GREYHOUND BUS STATION, MEDFORD

The building was designed as a single-story, wood and steel framed structure.  Interior elements include a Lobby, Ticket Counter, Vending and Luggage areas.  An Intermodal Transportation Hub was one of MURA’s goals as a part of the Downtown Revitalization Plan, as well as RVTD’s Master Plan, according to MURA.  “The design is intended to enhance and preserve the historic character of the City”, according to the Mail Tribune, 9-25-2008.

This station replaced the old Greyhound Bus Station at 212 N. Bartlett Street, and opened in October, 2008.  This station is intended to make transfers between the local and regional bus services easier for travelers, who previously had to walk downtown to make transfers.  It will also be a stop for the Amtrak shuttle taking passengers to and from Klamath Falls.
